The High Satanic Church emblem over symbols representing LGBTQ pride, Jewish identity, trans pride, Muslim identity, and Black liberation

Who is welcome here

Membership is not limited by race, nationality, gender, sexuality, ancestry, disability, or the religion a person was raised in.

Racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, and harassment based on identity are not accepted in the congregation. Members are judged by their conduct here.

What is The High Satanic Church?

An independent theistic Satanist congregation. Our work is religious: worship, ritual, study, community, and the care of our own tradition.

Do you believe Satan is real?

Yes. We understand Satan as a real spiritual being, not only as a symbol or literary figure.

What does “theistic Satanism” mean here?

It means that worship is directed toward Satan as a deity. Atheistic Satanist groups may use Satan as a symbol; that is not our position.

Are you connected to the Church of Satan or The Satanic Temple?

No. We are a separate congregation and neither organization speaks for us.

Are you connected to the O9A or extremist politics?

No. We reject extremist politics, coercion, abuse, and attempts to use religion as cover for harm.

Is this a political organization?

No. Individual members may hold political opinions, but the Church itself is organized around religion rather than party politics or public campaigns.

Who is welcome?

Adults and other eligible users under the rules of their country and the platforms we use may apply. Race, nationality, disability, gender, sexuality, ancestry, and former religion do not determine a person’s standing here. Conduct does.

What conduct is not accepted?

Harassment, coercion, threats, racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, trolling, and abuse are not accepted.

How do I join?

Create an account and verify your email. Registration creates a Visitor account only. After signing in, use the members area to request Neophyte. The administration performs a basic good-faith review and, if accepted, raises the account to Neophyte.

Is a Visitor already a member of the congregation?

No. Visitor is the status of a registered website account awaiting acceptance. Neophyte is the first congregation rank.

What is reviewed in a Neophyte request?

It is not a test of advanced knowledge. The review is mainly to confirm that the request appears sincere and that the account is not being used for trolling, harassment, impersonation, or deliberate disruption.

Does membership cost anything?

No. Registration, membership, worship, rank review, and ordinary community participation are free.

Do I have to attend meetings or voice calls?

No. The congregation is primarily online. Live participation can be useful, but it is not required for every member.

Can I use a display name?

Yes. You may use a chosen display name publicly. Registration still requires an email address for account verification.

Which platforms do you use?

This website is the main record for accounts, announcements, the Library, and the archive. Community links such as Discord or Telegram are listed where available.

What are the current ranks?

Visitor is an account status. The current congregation ranks are Neophyte, Causalem, Limen, Profundum, Tempel, Master, High Tempel, Founder. The member directory and Community page read the same current configuration.

How does rank progression work?

Ranks are not automatic and cannot be bought. A member may request review through the Sanctum, ask a High Tempel or another authorised superior, or contact the administration. Conduct, trust, study, participation, service, and responsibility are considered together.

Who founded the Church and who leads it now?

The Church was founded and is presently led by J.B., the Founder and High Priest. J.B. is the public religious name used in Church communications. Day-to-day administration is carried out by the administration, while Tempel and High Tempel members may be entrusted with religious guidance, moderation, and rank review.

Why do leaders sometimes use religious names or pseudonyms?

Public religious names may be used when personal safety or privacy makes a civil name unsuitable for publication. A public religious name is treated as the person’s official name for Church work; members are not entitled to demand private identifying information.

How does leadership succession work?

The Founder may designate a successor in a written Church record. If no designation can take effect, active High Tempel members and the senior administration form a succession council, appoint an interim leader, and confirm a permanent leader by a two-thirds decision. The title Founder remains attached to the original founder and is not inherited.

Can a Church leader be removed?

Operational authority may be suspended or removed for serious misconduct, abuse, financial dishonesty, a major safety or security breach, sustained incapacity, or abandonment of duty. The person must be told the concern and given a fair chance to respond; conflicted decision-makers must step aside; removal requires a two-thirds decision of the eligible senior leadership. The historical title Founder is not erased, but the authority attached to leadership can be removed.

What is the Church’s legal status?

The Church currently operates as an informal, fully online religious congregation. It is not presently incorporated or registered as a nonprofit, charity, company, or separate legal entity. A formal structure may be adopted later. Further details are set out on the Legal and Organisational Information page.

What is the Library?

The Library holds Church writings and uploaded texts. Access depends on the permissions attached to a member’s rank.

What is the archive?

The archive holds announcements, historical material, and PDFs. Some entries are public; others are restricted to members.

Do you perform rituals?

Yes. Members may practise privately, and communal rituals may be announced through the Church. No one needs expensive tools or elaborate equipment to begin.

Can I practise alone?

Yes. Private worship, study, reflection, prayer, meditation, and ritual remain part of the path whether or not a member joins live events.

What if I do not feel anything during practice?

Do not force an experience. Keep the practice simple, regular, and honest. Spiritual experience is not a performance.

Do you permit harm or illegal activity?

No. The Church does not condone abuse, coercion, violence, or illegal acts.

What does “Nazarene” mean in your writing?

It is an internal term used for Christianity and Christian traditions.

What does “the acausal” mean?

In our writing, the acausal names a reality not exhausted by ordinary material cause and effect. It is a theological and philosophical term, not a scientific claim presented as settled fact.

What does “numinous” mean?

It describes the sense of encountering a spiritual presence that feels outside ordinary daily experience.
